I’m sure we have a lot to update as lots has happened. We went on holiday only to get a phone call from our neighbors that our house had flooded and have since had to move out and are waiting for our house to dry out so they can then repair it… blah, blah, blah. In the meantime, Annabel has decided living in somewhere else is a good time to be on the move so here she is! She is helping us pass the time while we are out of the house by keeping us very busy!
Annabel is on the move! July 4, 2009
I’ve been doing my time… May 14, 2009
Well just one more thing to make it official that I am a mom, Annabel has had the tummy bug twice in the last month now – vomiting all over me! This was something I didn’t think I would be able to handle when I had children. When I worked on the airplane and people would throw up, I would walk through the cabin doing a little gagging dance just smelling it while trying to get one of the other flight attendants to clean it up before I started to throw up all over the other passengers. But times have moved on and I have managed to hold myself together and not back on her. Also, just to make things fun she has a bad cough with runny nose, possible teething (they always say it’s teething!), and conjunctivitis – which of course I now have. Luckily so far, I have escaped the tummy bug, although it would have done wonders for my after baby weight loss I’m certain. I am hoping and praying that if we have all this at once we can have a few weeks of nothing but health and happiness before it all starts again! Needless to say I don’t have any pictures from the last few weeks, but here are a few with her and her good friend Sam about a month ago.

Another milestone! April 23, 2009
I know I haven’t been very good about marking Annabel’s milestones on here, but here is one to share… she has her first tooth! It came in the day after Easter and explains why she randomly cried at everyone that weekend and didn’t want her food for about a week or so before. Once it popped through everything was fine, but they say (I’m still not sure who ‘they’ are, but ‘they’ have an awful lot to say about babies!) the second one is not far behind and sure enough we are back to blowing rasberries at our food again this week with a bit of grumpyness. Another thing to share is how well her communication is coming along. She may look like her daddy, but apparently she is as chatty as her mommy! She started the ba ba ba’s not long ago, with a few da’s and then ma ma ma’s – I wish I could say they were for me, but she’s clever not a genious. This week though I can’t even begin to imitate what she is saying, but we are having some serious conversations her and I. I love it! She is such a joy, my heart is overwhelmed again by how blessed we are to have her – she is so precious!
Time flies… March 23, 2009

I can’t believe how quickly time goes when you have a child. It seems like only yesterday she was a small lump in our arms not doing much and today she is wiggle lump in my arms squealing, giggling and talking in her own language! I love it! My mom tells me it gets better, but I can’t imagine how when I am enjoying this so much! Although she is still very small, she is almost double the weight she was at birth. She loves to chat to you and loves to giggle with her daddy. We have lots of fun meeting up with other mums and toddlers for walks and play groups of course, she really enjoys watching other babies and kids. Now that she can sit up, it really adds to the excitement of her world. She has started playing peekaboo, it is so cute! We have it on video, now we just have to figure out how to post it. I enjoyed my first British Mother’s Day (it’s in March here rather than May) and I received the most wonderful present, a photo book of photos since she was born… of course I cried. She went up her first real mountain yesterday and sang in daddy’s ear almost all the way til we stopped a bit too late for her lunch and then she lost the plot and we had to come back down. The wind was pretty strong and cold and we think her little toes just got too cold, so we’ll have to try it again when the weather is better -(although that doesn’t happen very often here!) Of course a few pics for fun!
Grandparents are wonderful! March 3, 2009
Annabel is sleeping now, recovering from all the fun she had with Meemaw while she visited us. We also had Pa to visit just after Christmas. I am so thankful my parents are willing to make the long journey here to see us, especially now because it is so important to Annabel.
Things have been very busy here and the days are finally getting lighter – yeah spring is on its way! But not til after some more snow apparently this week. I hear it is lovely and warm in Phoenix and am very jealous. We have a camping trip planned for June and I am already praying for warm and dry weather, because you never can tell here.
We are also going through another transition with Annabel as she is starting to take bottles now and pretty soon I will be done nursing her. I didn’t realize how difficult I would find this. In one sense I am very excited for a little bit of freedom, our church has a women’s retreat this weekend and I am very much looking forward to going on my own – first time in almost 8 months. But also a little sad, time seems to have gone so fast and I can’t believe she is almost 8 months old. It is silly really, but it is a lovely feeling to be needed and I am so thankful to have been able to provide the milk she has needed til now. I still find it amazing how God has created us this way. I know I will enjoy the weekend, but I will miss this sweet little girl!

6 Months! January 29, 2009

Our Christmas stocking!

Her first snow!
[/caption]Our baby girl is 6 months old! I know all you seasoned parents will tell us it only gets faster, but I can’t believe how much she has grown and she is still really very small! We have had a long journey from returning with jetlag from America and our first cold, to Christmas. Then having Pa come to visit and leaving unexpectedly short due to the loss of my dear Grandfather – Wilford Gumm – who by the way we are rejoicing that he is now with our Heavenly Father! We have then encounter a complete change of schedule and sleep patterns to say the least (or lack there of!) and a lot of loud screaming. We have just now returned to some sort of normalacy, if that is possible with children, I’m still uncertain! But nonetheless, still completely thrilled to have her and enjoying her everyday! We are enjoying life and planning many adventures for Annabel to join us on. So just some photos to catch up with Christmas, but hopefully more soon!
Bel’s 1st visit to America… Part 1 November 18, 2008
After travelling down to London in the beginning of October with Annabel to the American Embassy to register her birth and gain her American citizenship, we got her passport and were ready to head across the pond to meet the family. Bel and I flew out to Phoenix 2 weeks ago and are enjoying ourselves in the sunshine with family and friends. I can’t wait for hubby to come, Bel misses Daddy terribly! He will be joining us on Saturday and will be here for his first proper Thanksgiving. (We’ve done Thanksgiving back home in England with many wonderful friends, but it’s just not the same when you have to celebrate it on Saturday because you don’t have Thursday and Friday off… and the rest of the country has no idea what it is for!) Also, my wonderful friends and family gave us a “Welcome Annabel Shower” (baby shower, but after baby is born!) Thank you so much Jackie, Julie, Mandy and Mom for the wonderful party and to all my lovely friends who came! Here are a few pictures of our time here so far.
